Chicago calls ALL Orthodox Runners!

If you're planning on running in this year's Bank of America Chicago Marathon, you're probably diligently preparing your training schedules, nutrition programs and weekend plans for early October in the "windy city."  As I submit the very first post on this new blog, I wish to set the stage for how I intended this forum to serve you.  With the blessing of His Grace, Matthias, Bishop of the Diocese of Chicago and the Midwest (OCA), and Rev. Father John Baker, Rector of Christ the Savior Orthodox Church, the parish council wishes to extend an invitation to all those Orthodox Christian runners participating in the marathon to attend a wonderful evening of spiritual edification, fellowship and the forging of future relationships.
On Saturday, October 8, 2011, Fr. John will serve Vespers beginning at 4:30 pm, followed by a Thanksgiving prayer service and fellowship with light refreshments, and still provide you plenty of time to "CARBO-LOAD" before race day.
Christ the Savior Orthodox Church is located at 927 N. LaSalle, Chicago, Ill. (across the street from Moody Bible Institute).
We look forward to seeing you!!!
